White is often associated with spring and summer, yet winter is the perfect time to bring a touch of white into your wardrobe. From Chanel to Dior, white was commonly seen on the winter runways, showing there is no reason to wait until it warms up.
The trick is to start small. If you are usually a person who spends the winter months in black, a giant leap to white will throw you off guard and leave you feeling uncomfortable. Try opting for a white shoe to begin with and then maybe throw in a white clutch.
For those of you that are game enough to go all out, the key is to choose heavier fabrics. Save the lace and delicate fabrics for spring. A white trench coat or a white wool pant can look fabulous and can be a breath of fresh air in the dull grey winter skies.
You’ll also need to be realistic when wearing white and understand that dust and sticky fingers can wreak havoc. Keep your white wear for days when you’re not running after children.
