CEO Talita shares formal wear tips & tricks!

Our CEO Talita Estelle shares her top 5 tips for Formal!

1) START LOOKING EARLY

Have your pre-formal plan in place well before the day. Not only do you want to have the first pick of gowns this season, but sorting your look early will keep you from feeling stressed. And be sure to book any appointments ahead of time, to save yourself from missing out during the busy event season.

2) DO YOUR RESEARCH

When shopping, take time to try on a variety of styles in order to pick the most flattering cut for your body shape & skin tone. Then know your dress fabric for professional steaming or dry cleaning, if you’re opting for ironing don’t leave it to the day in order to avoid any mishaps.

3) AIM FOR ELEGANCE

There is something truly breathtaking about a subtle and modest gown. You don’t need a lot of skin or flash to be the biggest head-turner at formal. If you do opt for a low back or thin strap, be sure to avoid long beach days the day before. ' I spent the day at the beach before my formal, and ended up looking different to what I had anticipated.' - Talita Estelle

4) DON'T LET SHOES BE AN AFTERTHOUGHT

While your gown will be what most people fawn over, the comfort level of your shoes will be what you take notice of throughout the night. Look for shoes that are both chic and comfortable, this way you can effortlessly dance the night away. Oh and don't forget to consider bringing along some body tape, safety pins and shoe inserts.

5) CELEBRATION IS KEY

In the end, the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident. Whatever you decide to wear it's all about celebrating each other and enjoying yourself. So have a good sleep and you'll feel rested and ready to go for your perfect night!
